Winters Carpet

Summer came
and
Summer went,
Our
Harvest was good,
Less money was
Spent.

But
 The seasons flow is never
Ending,
Late this year,
It seems I missed the leaves
Descending.

Now
 Fall has come
and
Fall has gone,
How did I miss her autumnal
Song?
The moment gently slipped away;
Snow arrived
Yesterday.

 We've even had more
Overnight,
Yes
Everything has turned to
White,
But the sun came out,
Brightening
The
 Glistening Trees.
Ah,
Such a
Resplendent
       Sight . . .

. . . the temperature? It's gradually rising,
perhaps it's not too surprising . . .

Will the snow now
Dissipate,
As is
Normal,
At a very rapid
Rate
?

. . . I pause, sit, and be; silently walking through this snow bound reality . . .

Came Daylights
Knell,
Again Snow
Fell.
And
Winters Carpet?
Remains
Mother Nature's
Crystallized
Shell.

1week2early?

We're always dreaming of a white Christmas here in England!

  2. "Glistening trees"... I love that :) we don't have snow in Indonesia, but hey, we can still see the green trees glistening with dew in early morning.

What a beautiful moment you share :)

  3. Nice Doug...I know the feeling. After our 12 inches of snow you could feel the silence of winter's blanket. Driving back onto the reservation I work at, the trees were full of snow and the sun's rays made them sparkle. Beautiful.

  4. Thank you everyone :)

I love to write; time flies when I'm having fun, and for me writing is very enjoyable . . . . although I'm no poet and I have no training as such. Occasionally I find myself enjoying both the moment and the words that the moment inspires.

Of course the real beauty is the moment itself. I find that at this time in my life I feel that wonder and beauty simply 'is', regardless of how others may regard it ;-)

I wonder if anyone can relate to that?

  5. Have I said yet that you have a way with words for if I haven't I meant to. You sir have a way with words. You write well and I like you lean to the point approach.
    Warmest regards,
    Simone.

  6. Thank You Simone, very kind indeed coming from one who writes so very well herself :)

The snow has remained and has increased its number over these past few days . . . the time now is 11.15 am and the temperature is still -1 here!

  7. One inch of snow in London and the whole transportation system completely collapses!

  8. Yes, doesn't it just. I'm out near Stansted Airport and they closed our turnoff from the M11 two evenings ago during rush hour leaving people trapped in their cars in freezing conditions; d'oh!

    Wasn't that the obvious solution?
